The challenge was to go beyond traditional advertising and create a campaign that would connect emotionally with the audience—positioning Ouzo Varvayiannis not just as a drink, but as an integral part of Greek culture. The goal was to create pieces of art that tell a story, making the viewer pause, feel and relate.
As a creative agency with internationally awarded work, ABC Design Communication approached the poster not as a simple promotional medium, but as a narrative canvas. Elements of Greek nature, such as the sea and flowers, were used to express the authentic experience of Greece through a contemporary visual language. The sea becomes a brushstroke, the ship’s wake a symbol of freedom, while the bottle transforms into an icon of life and culture. The aesthetic is clean and minimal, with a colour palette that subtly bridges tradition and modernity.
The project successfully refreshed the image of Ouzo Varvayiannis, strengthening its bond with contemporary Greek identity. The posters function as visual artworks that evoke emotion and identification, proving that a targeted branding and campaign design strategy can transform a product into a living, evolving story.
