Design That Bridges Tradition and Modernity

In the heart of Evia, grandfather Giorgis left behind a meaningful legacy for the Kontos family: an orchard filled with memories, labour and love for the land. This “grandfather’s orchard” remains a living symbol of authentic tradition, passed down through generations. Our aim was to creatively translate this heritage into a contemporary corporate identity, giving new life to a brand that connects family values with the expectations of today’s consumer. The renewed identity of E. & D. Kontos S.A. was shaped through a design strategy that honours the continuity of tradition while adopting a modern visual language — from packaging design to the creation of a new logo.

The choice to use the engraving technique emerged from the need to capture the craftsmanship, history and authenticity that define the family’s story. This “handmade” aesthetic brings warmth and depth to the packaging, conveying the character of the orchard and the people who cultivated it. The colour palette was carefully harmonised with each product’s content, giving every label in the “from grandfather’s orchard” line its own unique personality while maintaining a cohesive visual system. The result is a contemporary identity that highlights the heritage, the land and the values of the Kontos family, offering a brand presence that stands out on the shelf with sincerity and refined visual storytelling.
