As part of its search for a subtle yet striking way to present its fine wines, Organic Food 8 asked us to create a series of labels that would give each variety its own identity, highlighting the relationship between wine, land and art. The challenge was to blend painterly expression with contemporary branding aesthetics, without losing authenticity.
We set out to tell the story of each wine through faces. The idea of using the portraits of artist Kostas Lakis — works that capture the character of the vineyards with artistic sensitivity — became our creative foundation. Each painting was transformed into the “character” of a variety, a personality with its own taste and identity.
We designed a series of labels that combine artistic painting, gold foil and minimal typography. Together, these elements strike a balance between the warmth of art and the precision of design. Each wine label functions like a small canvas, turning the bottle itself into a collectible object.
The result is a wine range that tells stories — not only about flavour, but about the soul of the Greek land that gave birth to it.
Through this project, ABC Design Communication bridged branding and fine art, proving that design can be every bit as expressive as a painted portrait.
